Letter from the Editor
(August, 1999)

It's been another long strange trip, my friends. To have a look at what I have been up to while neglecting my duties here at The Cabinet, follow this link to The Cabinet's Clip2 guide. Clip2 is a service that provides universal access to bookmarks/favorites and also facilitates sharing of information. Check it out. If you don't, you'll have to wait till I get round to moving the rest of the links out to the main Web page.

And, as many of you found out from Alan R! Moon prior to The Gathering, Jos and I are expecting our first child, a boy, any day now. This should, of course, serve to free up all sorts of time for tending to Cabinetry. Not.

The little bit of gaming time I have managed to sneak in has been mostly spent with the Silicon Valley Boardgamers organized by the able Dave Kohr. This issue highlights the thoughts and creations of Rick Heli, an active member of the aforementioned august group.

Kudos to Jay Tummelson of Rio Grande Games. Both Jay and his games seem to be everywhere these days. Its really nice to be able to wander out to just about any game store in the Bay Area and pick up an interesting game from the German scene. Cheers, Jay!

Look for more frequent dollops of information from me in the days ahead via the LinkVison publication, as this new format makes rolling out information much easier. Also look for more tools to help you manage those dollops to appear on the LinkVision site in the next few weeks. Let me know what you think. We are in the early course correction stage still and God knows what we've done wrong. Letting us know about the things we've done right would be nice, too.

take care,
ken
