Subject: The Serial Killer Boardgame

In regards the letter from "[email protected]":

I actually have a copy of TSKB; I purchased it as a surprise gift for my sweetie, Bernadette, who has a long-standing interest in serial killers tho' little interest in games. The package is a delight. The plastic babies with which one keeps score are simply astounding, and yes, many of the jokes are funny once.

Unfortunately, there's almost nothing to it as a game. Game play comes as close to nil as one can get without being actually nil; there's really only one game decision of any consequence, which is whether you want to kill in a state which has the death penalty (and risk execution) or not (and only risk life imprisonment -- you lose either way). Otherwise, the game is basically completely random, and the replay value, once one has seen all of the cards, is also basically nil.

Sigh. I don't regret the money I spent on it, but I wish that there had been an actual game in the package.

And you bought this as a present for your sweetie, eh?

Clearly Kevin is a man who likes to live on the edge... :-)

I wish it to be known that I have no idea whatsoever on how to find a copy of this game now (although copies have shown up on E-bay). I also have no interest in selling my copy. Please do not contact me about this. Really. I'm not kidding.

And if you contact me, I'll forward your email to Kevin so he can whine and kvetch at you for a while, instead of me. I'm not kidding, either.
