I'm trying to find either Beyond Language or Language on Vacation by Dimitri Borgmann. Published in the sixties, I think they are books on word games.

A friend asked me if I knew the rules to a card game called TELEFUNKIE. She had played once before but had forgotten the rules. Can anyone tell me the rules or where I can find them. I have searched the internet with no luck.

I learned a game called "Ronda" (long o, pron. "roan-da") from a roommate in college. We used to play incessantly in the dorms. She said it was a Moroccan card game. I remember most of the rules, but I'm not sure if we're still playing it right. You deal 3 cards per hand. If you get a pair, you call out 'ronda', worth 1 pt. If you get 3 of a kind, you call out 'double-ronda' worth 2 pts. You take cards from the center similar to Casino, but in runs rather than totals, and you can get points for taking certain cards from there. Most cards also gets a point. I can't remember any more about it than that. Can you or your net-pals help me?

Subject: Info on game called September

I'm looking for info on a game called September that originated in Great Britain and involved placing tiles on a board in an attempt to cross the board while blocking your opponent who was heading toward you. Is this game available to purchase anywhere? I can't find anything on it in the U.S.

I ran across a pack of very thin, tall oriental palying cards in San Francisco which were marked with the characters of a Chinese Chess set (horse, elephant, soldiers, etc.) Does anyone know any games played with them?

Would you happen to know where I might find the rules to Faro? It may have been modified to Pharo to seem more exotic, but I haven't seen any indication of this. Just Faro.

It apparently was almost,or equally, as popular in the American Old West, as Poker. But now it's unknown. Any help would be appreciated. I've checked most the links you and others have posted. Shall I let you know if I find the rules?

Subject: Need some Assistance!

Hello, I own a company called Crystal Visions Classic Game Boards. I develop game boards using Marble Stone, Beveled Glass and A wonderful Acrylic to accentuate the game.

I mostly create game boards for Ancient Games. The one I am doing right now is Nine Men's Morris w/Pewter Vikings.

A customer came in yesterday and requested the bame Toblaro. Do you have any information? It is an ancient Scottish Drinking game using a 7 square board with 14 shot glasses, seven on each side. It may another name or spelt differently than my information.

He would like me to carve this in a Green Marble Stone, but I need to have the specifications of the board and the history and rules to create it. Please E Mail ASAP, so I may serve this customer. At least where to look :)

Thank you

Dear Editor,

Do you have any information about the games that the Abenaki or Algonquin Native Americans would have played in the early part of this country's history dated at about 1600 on.

Please e-mail back with information or another web-site I could try.

Thank you.

Subject: Ancient Board Games

Dear Ken,

Interesting info on Senet. I'm studying another ancient game that no-one knows the rules for. The Roman (or Greek) board game they played with black & white (or blue & white) stones on what looks like a checkerboard. They found one in Herculaneum, and one in Essex, England last year. Purportedly fragments have been found elsewhere. Do you by any chance know anything about this game or know of any references?

Thanks

Subject: Pinochle dominoes

Many years ago, when I was but a wee lad and the world was still forming, they used to play pinochle in the local pool hall using a domino set with the characters and suits of the deck imprinted on the dominoes. I have not, in the years since, seen any more of them.

Could you possibly tell me of a source for these wondrous rectangles? I would teach some of my co-workers the joys of pinochle and they are not amenable to the playing card variety.

Thank you for your time and effort.
