Subject: 10,000 Variant
A variant of 10,000 that no-one else seemed to mention (and that my circle of friends always uses) is continuing the previous players turn.
What this means is that if a player scores points and then passes the dice, the next player may start fresh with all 6 dice or continue with the setup from the previous player.
eg. Player A has a 1,1,5,5 for 300 points (with 2 dice left to throw). He elects to stop, scores the 300 points and passes to player B. Player B may throw all 6 dice OR throw just the 2 hoping to add to the 300 already showing. A player may not elect to stop unless he or she has thorwn the dice at least once.
Note that scores from previous rolls are also included.
eg. Player A has 1,1,1,1,5,5 (500 points). He then rolls again getting 1,1,5 (250 points) and decides to stop. He scores 500+250 = 750 points. Player B may roll the three remaining and possibly add to 750 (not 250).
I like this variant as you need to weigh the risks of letting the player following you ride your coattails.
