Nominations for the Spiel des Jahres, the German Game of the Year awards, are out. My favorites from the list are Bohnanza and the Settlers Cardgame but I must admit that I haven't played most of them. Expedition seems a bit odd since its basicly a re-issue of Wildlife Adventure, a fine old game. I'm shocked that Konig & Intrigant didn't make the list. Maybe the committee was concerned about honoring the same game system (sort of) two years in a row? It is a fine bunch of games this year, in any case.
Congratulations to the creators for their fine work and to the Committee for their excellent taste!
